Complete Marine Detailing Instructions with the Liqui-Tech’s Synthetic Product Line

1. Wash the vessel with FINISH FIRST WASH & CONDITIONER
   Wet the entire vessel’s surface before washing. Pour approximately 3 capfuls of FINISH FIRST WASH & CONDITIONER in a bucket and fill with water to activate the suds. Use a soft cloth or brush to apply the suds beginning on the top surfaces and work towards lower surfaces. Wash and rinse with plenty of water in sections. FINISH FIRST WASH & CONDITIONER will not streak or smear like ordinary organic soaps, but washing and rinsing smaller areas yield better results. FINISH FIRST WASH & CONDITIONER produces thick, foamy suds that lift dirt into solution prior to washing. This helps prevent scratching the surface during washing. FINISH FIRST WASH & CONDITIONER will NOT remove FINISH FIRST POLISH-MARINE FORMULA.
2. Prepare the vessel’s gel coat surface with FINISH PREP PRE-CLEANER
   Use FINISH PREP PRE-CLEANER to remove any chalkiness, oxidation, wax residue, bugs and other surface contaminants from the gel coat or painted surface. Apply FINISH PREP PRE-CLEANER to an applicator pad or soft cloth. Four “half-dollar” sized drops will clean approximately 2 square feet. Massage FINISH PREP PRE-CLEANER with light pressure only. FINISH PREP PRE-CLEANER cleans by fluid emulsification, therefore hard rubbing or pressure is not needed. FINISH PREP PRE-CLEANER contains no abrasives and will safely remove the chalkiness or oxidation. Gel coat is thin enough so DO NOT scratch the gel coat clean with abrasive cleaners. An orbital can be used to apply FINISH PREP PRE-CLEANER but use low rpm (< 3000) and no to very little pressure. Remove with a soft cloth while still wet to achieve maximum cleaning performance. More than 1 application may be required if heavy chalkiness or oxidation exists.
   
   Gel coat oxidation happens in 2 phases. The first phase is when chalkiness exists but the gel coat is still smooth. FINISH PREP PRE-CLEANER will do an outstanding job for Phase 1. The second phase of oxidation is when the gel coat surface is rough and scaly beneath the chalkiness. An aggressive abrasive is needed to remedy this situation and Liqui-Tech recommends having a professional perform this task.
3. Apply FINISH FIRST POLISH - MARINE FORMULA to the clean vessel’s surface
   Place 4 “dime” sized drops of FINISH FIRST POLISH - MARINE FROMULA on a clean cloth or applicator pad. Wipe onto an area approximately 2 square foot using a straight back and forth motion. Apply to the entire boat’s/vessel’s surface at one time. A thin, even application of FINISH FIRST POLISH - MARINE FORMULA works the best. Applying thick coats is wasteful and will cause excess dust upon removal. Allow FINISH FIRST POLISH - MARINE FORMULA to “cure” a minimum of 1 hour to overnight before removing. This important step allows for maximum durability and maximum filling of fine scratches and swirl marks. Easily remove the residual “dust” with a soft cloth after curing is complete. When using FINISH FIRST POLISH - MARINE FORMULA for the first time, apply a 2nd coat after removing the 1^st coat residual dust. These 2 initial coats insure all the microscopic pores of the gel coat are filled in and sealed. The normal maintenance coat is applied approximately every six months afterwards.
4. Clean Windows (glass and UV coated plastic) with WINDOW FINISH
   Use WINDOW FINISH to safely clean glass windows and “all” UV coated plastic windows. WINDOW FINISH is safe for UV coated plastic windows because it contains 2-Proponal….not isopropanol. This ammonia free formula cleans and polishes the window without streaks and smears associated with ordinary glass cleaners. Mist onto a small area and wipe clean with a soft cloth or paper towel, turning the towel over with each wipe. Just before WINIDOW FINISH dries completely, buff with a separate clean cloth to bring up sparkle and slickness to the window. Water will “sheet” off the window even before it has a chance to dry…eliminating the white water spots so common on boat windows.
5. Clean and protect all seats and upholstery surfaces with MPC 421 AND LVR (Leather, vinyl, rubber) PROTECTANT
   For vinyl or leather surfaces that are heavily soiled or have oily residue from silicone based or organic surface products, use #421 MPC. This multi-purpose cleaner can be used on vinyl, leather, cloth upholstery, canvass Bimini tops and carpets. #421 MPC is not acid based and safely deep cleans without leaving a residue that will actually attract dirt. On clean vinyl and leather surfaces use LVR PROTECTANT to enhance and protect these areas from dirt, dust and contaminants. LVR PROTECTANT blocks 97% of the damaging UV rays. It contains no silicone and will leave the surfaces clean and oil free, but with maximum protection.
